Leia

"Princess" Leia was rescued in March of 2012 from Western NC when she was approximately 2 years old. Her owner had to give her up because she was moving, and would no longer have a yard for her. At the time, Dakota was getting ready to move into the main enclosure and needed a kennel mate, so we introduced him to Leia and they quickly became a happily-ever-after couple. For the first year, people were not able to pet Leia but now she loves attention from the long-term volunteers! She is still wary of strangers, but she loves Dakota. She often lounges on the picnic table or under the trees with Dakota never far away. True to her princess moniker, Leia is definitely the one in charge, is choosey about her treats, and loves her prince.
